Quick Trip to Colorado

We were lucky enough to sneak off to Colorado for Thanksgiving this year. We visited my side of the family, which I was thrilled about. It's been 12+ years since we've all had a holiday together, that's a verryyy long time! Kyler was eager to spend time with his cousins, ride on the airplane and see Santa's village. I didn't take a lot of pictures, mainly because I just wanted to be in the moment. I took just enough to remember the highs of our trip :).

Exploring Grandmas backyard....

My sweet Niece, Della. She is such a love bug. I'm going to miss that cute little face and raspy voice.

On Friday we took Kyler to "The North Pole", a cute little amusement park near Colorado Springs that definitely puts ya' in the Christmas spirit.

Isn't it sweet...

The weather was beautiful, low 70's...! Coming from North Dakota it was a nice break from the cold. {Imagine our faces when we arrived at the airport to -20 below windchills}

Kyler and Grandma enjoying the ride {wish I could have heard the conversations between these two}. My Mom has a very unique spirit about her that is infectious to be around, already missing her like crazy. Any amount of time with her is truly a gift.

The views were incredible.

Kyler had a blast on the ferris wheel, I on the other hand was trying my hardest to keep it together for the sake of my chid. When the attendant stopped the ride as we were at the very top, the wind was gusting and I started yelling "get me down, get me down". Yup I was that lady!

This cutie didn't seem to mind the windy ride...

One last ride on the coaster, Kyler's favorite. The best part of my day was watching his face on this ride, so sweet to see his excitement.

I can't believe theirs only a few more weeks until Christmas.  As the next few weeks go by, I really want to encourage you to take time to remember what Christmas is all about. I need to remind myself of this as well. I get so busy at work this time of year I often find myself dreading the next few weeks instead of enjoying them. Please don't let the busyness of the season take the meaning out of the season. Let's try to focus our hearts on the Lord and enjoy the next few weeks as Christians.
